This is the most recent photo of me that I have--the handsome gentleman in the photo with me is my amazing Partner in Crime--and now I will talk about how 'awesome' I think I am.
By choice, I'd be a full time writer but I'd back living in my parent's and eating top ramen. Until I get that award winning novel, I will lifeguard, teach people of varying ages how to swim and train Lifeguards/Swim Instructors of the future. Alongside my job at the pool, I am also a student in the Rec Management program at a technical college in southern Wisconsin (USA).
I've lived in Wisconsin all my life (I'll be turning a quarter of a century next March 19th) and no, Wisconsin isn't all that bad. Yeah, the summers are muggier than they are hot and the winters are bitter cold with a quilt of snow. Not going to lie, I've gone drifting here a lot and it's a blast. I've been as far east as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as far west as the Twin Cities, Minnesota and I've never left the country... Yet.
My mother had breast cancer (soon to be ten years in remission since February 16th of 2007 and many more to come!) and my father had a heart attack, I was 14 years young (and at the same time as my mother's mastectomy!). Cancer's a big thing in my life--I've had four relatives that have had or died from breast and lung cancer--and I would never inflict the disease on anyone. Since my first relative with cancer passed in '04, I've been trying donate my hair to charity.
I have one brother, four cats, two loving--and still living--parents and the best PiC one can find. I'm a HUGE gamer--tabletop and video. My first tabletop game was Second Ed Dungeons and Dragons and I have since played 3rd ed, 3.5, Hรขrn and, more recently, Pathfinder. No, I do not have a level thirteen halfling fighter-thief that does seven hit die on its back stab though I can understand and translate that whole sentence for you. I don't have a favourite video game though I have beaten many games more than once.
I'm obsessed with writing. I go a little crazy when I can't get my ideas down on paper and have battled the ferocious monster Writeris Blockus more than once--with varying results. I've always liked creating my own worlds. I have been writing paranormal/supernatural novels and fantasy (and a little realistic fiction) since I've started writing when I was ten. It's a little hard to believe that I've been writing for over a decade. Speaking of which, last October (2013) I finished my first manuscript, the Guardian Heir! In its current state, it is not fit for publishing but, after I finish the second draft of Cerulean, I will be dedicating my time to doctoring it up.
